Howdy,
I'm planning to purchase a serious bream rod and was looking at the Pfleuger Supreme AST - was wondering if anyone has advice or experience on this rod. I'll be matching it with a Stradic 2500 FI.
Even a suggestion for a rod with similar pricing would be great :)
Any help is appreciated! |

Would that be the Tcurve flight? or just the standard tcurve tournament.
Thanks for the replies :) |

| T curve flight are a great rod and you should be able to find them discounted to about $250. I have one matched with a 1000 Twinpower and it goes great. |
cheers, Nathan |

I fish with the plueger supreme pretty regularly but its not an ultimate finesse rod. For its right application it is an awsome piece of kit with great componentry.
I run a 2-4kg finesse and its a little bit mis-stated. I wouldnt refer to it as finesse. It is much better suited to flickinng poppers or slightly bigger HB's for bream with a touch of dropshotting. Also, it is perfect for blades. I just wouldnt use it for plastix.
The 2-4kg carries its stiffness through to the tip so is perfect for presentations that require a bit of force to get going, just like HB's, poppers and blades.
At $250 bux for Fuji componentry sporting single foot titanium guides with silicon carbide inserts makes VERY good value. It just needs to be used for its specific purpose.
For what its worth, the 3-6kg supreme is even better. Probably one of the best jew/snapper rods on the market. But thats a whole new conversation. |
